TODAY’S LESSON FROM THE DON:

“It takes at least 3 hours to make a good tomato sauce. When you’re feeding me, that sauce better be made from scratch. If I find any empty jars of Preggo, I’ll fuckin’ kill ya.”

So, then what’s today’s  lesson, Don?

“Don’t ever let me find that fuckin’ jar.”

Straight to the point.

‘Nuff said.

STOP…BEING SCARED AND FIGHT

SCARED?

WHO ISN’T?

I now don’t have a job. And, millions of other Americans, many questions arise:

So, am I bitter? HELL NO!

Am I scared? HELL YES!

Will I let my fear get the best of me? HELL NO!

Will I get the best of my fears? HELL YES!

Anybody watch Obama’s inauguration speech the other day?    obama-speech

“WE MUST PICK OURSELVES UP.”

So, ya know what? I think I’m gonna listen to Mr. Obama now known also as, Mr. President. You know why? Because he’s half black and, even when I was a kid in the 80′s and then a teenager in the 90′s,NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY, could have guessed there would be a U.S. president of any color during our lifetime, much less half-black.

So, because the unthinkable happened, why not think the unthinkable?

Does the economy suck? HELL YES!

Are there are lot of jobs out there? HELL NO!

Will the economy struggle for another 6 months? HELL YES!

Will I struggle for another 6 months? HELL NO!

Here’s the point I’m trying to make: STOP BEING SO FRIGGIN’ SCARED…ALL OF YOU!!!

You know who usually ISN’T scared during these economic downturns?

w-buffet-in-suit *Warren Buffett

You know who one of the richest men in the world is today?

w-buffet-moneyrain*Warren Buffet.

Do you want to know why?

Here’s why:

“Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are being fearful.”

Got it? No. Read the damn quote again.

“BE FEARFUL WHEN OTHERS ARE GREEDY AND GREEDY WHEN OTHERS ARE FEARFUL.”

While this quote relates by and large to investing and investors in general, the general message can be applied to anything, especially the current state of things.

Get the hell out there and fight this thing. Fight to get a job. Fight to get your life back. Fight to change the economy. Just fight, dammit. Fight like it’s the only thing you know how to do.

This isn’t the time to be soft. It isn’t the time to timid. It isn’t the time to be passive. It’s the time to take charge. For you. For me. For our country. For our world. For everyone.

C’mon people: fight, Fight, FIGHT!!!

Being laid off sucks. Being out of work sucks. Having no income sucks. But, I can complain about many things that suck and I’d still be sitting in my apartment in Los Angeles looking at my Apple computer sipping on coffee while there’s countries in the world that chop off the arms of little kids.

So, yeah, things suck. But we can do this. We HAVE to do this. If not now, when. If not with Obama, then who? I’m starting. Don’t know how. Don’t know when. Don’t know what. But I’m starting. If you’d like to join me, you’re more than welcome. If not, enjoy the darkness while I enjoy the light.

FIGHT!

FIGHT FOR YOURSELF. FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE.

STOP…SCREWING THE GOOD FOLKS OVER

by Stop Pop Culture on

Okay, so check this out: yesterday, me, yes, yours truly was laid off of work. Laid off from a big music company that is part of a larger music conglomerate, both horribly managed and spiraling down the giant music industry drain.

Actually, in the last 3 months, this corporation’s “oh-so-wonderful management” laid off:

*an employee who had been there 20 years,

a lady who had worked as a manager for over 20 years

*a lady with 17 VERY sucessful years. VERY successful.

*another woman with 15 hard-working years

*a man with 20 loyal years.

And then of course yesterday me and my measley 18-month tenure were “laid off”. Big whoopee.

However, in a kind, caring move from the company, they sincerely sent away a sweet, devoted woman who had given them 17 years.

CONGRATULATIONS MUSIC INDUSTRY: YOU’VE BEEN AWARDED THIS DECADE’S AWARD FOR:

shit“SHIT BUSINESS” big-shit

YOU SUCK AND SWALLOW!

Unfortunately, I don’t have a job anymore but fortunately, I’m also not working for a poorly run industry that long missed the internet train back in the 1990′s. To put it in perspective, 18 months ago, the stock of the company I arrived at was around $19.

Today, $2.15. So, in short, LOL, HAHAHAHA, AND LMAO!

I get laid off but get paid out. So there! And don’t forget, music execs, what goes around, comes around.

You’ll get yours. In fact, you’re already getting it. Wall Street’s already got a death warrant out on your ass.

wall-st-sign       wall-st-bull

Alright, enough of my bitter send-off. If you wanted to know exactly which company let me go, don’t bother. Maybe one day I’ll reveal that truth but for the moment, because our country’s become a freaked out legal cesspool, I’ll hold further comments for later.

*this blog was dedicated to all the hard working men and women who got screwed over by a company they were loyal to. THEY DON’T DESERVE US!
