STOP PANICKING AND BUY! – THE SAGE SCHOOLS THE MARKET

RECAP
It’s been a wild week or so since we last met here, the market having some downright disgusting days followed by some days so wonderful it put bullish investors in a euphoric bliss. Last Thursday the market turned up on the heels of the unemployment news being revealed Friday morning. Strangely, after it was disclosed that 598,000 Americans lost their jobs in January, Wall Street was…up? With news of a stimulus package close to being approved and the bad bank rescue plan originally supposed to announced on Monday, investors pinned their hopes on action soon to be taken against the recession.
LOOKING AHEAD
2 things: Stimulus Package & Bad Bank Rescue Plan
These are the two primary things on investor’s minds right now ALL OVER THE WORLD. Yep, the approval of the stimulus package and what the bad bank rescue will reveal has investors sitting up all night scouring every news website known to the free world in hopes the news has finally been revealed.
So far, we’re still biting our nails.
But I don’t care. Why should I? I’m hearing this recession is terrible, worst in 70 years. Well, okay. Now what? Exactly. Can we all shut our traps about how bad things are and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Here are a few stocks I got my eye on:
GHM: GRAHAM CORP
Been doing a little research on this small-cap and it seems pretty legit. Great balance sheet and awesome ratings. My favorite thing: lots of people saying it’s a BUY. Worth a look, at least.
WMT: WAL-MART STORES INC
I know some of you think of Wal-Mart as the grocery equivalent of Satan but you can’t argue the prices or the business model. Or the fact that it seems to be a good time to buy it although I’m no expert. Just seems right to me with the current state of things.
WEN: WENDY’S ARBYS GROUP INC
Well, McDonald’s reported profits of 7 cents a share this morning proving they are still THE KING. However, I can’t see how places like Wendy’s or Arby’s would turn people away to, say, the Cheesecake Factory. These two joints may not be McDonald’s but they’re cheap and fast and Wendy’s may have a better value menu than McDonald’s.
