RAPPERS AND LIQUOR: THE NEXT HOT DRINK

Some people believe that art dictates culture, and that culture mimics art, and that both are a reflection of each other. There is another parallel that is often overlooked but is just as prevalent in society…pop culture dictates booze consumption.

I know many of us are fans of the hip hop/rap genre of music. Those of us that have been fans for years, have watched rappers go from drink to drink as chronicled in their songs, blowing up whatever booze they feel is “hot”. When I was a kid (born in 1979) the rappers were all about 40’s of Old English or St. Ides.
*Damn right, it was a good day!
From there it went to Alize to Hennessy to Hypnotic from Hypnotic to the new “Pop Culture Buzz Drink” of the past year or so, Patron Tequila, which now has risen to a previously unreached levels of “Pop…ularity”.
*It sucks when there’s no pics of hot chicks sipping the Patron
So I pose a question: What’s next? What’s the next drink that rappers will tell us is cool. What booze is Lil Wayne or P Diddy going to claim is the next “hot shit”?

I have no factual basis for this, but something about gold flakes floating in a rappers pimp goblet just sounds like fodder for many great songs. In fact, I’ve already got some of the hit song titles worked out: “My Drank Be Golden”, “Throwed of the ‘Schlager”, “Pissin’ Riches”…etc.

So tell us what’s up, big rappers. We all need to know the next “hot drank” so we can get a head start. You know, so we can be “Pissin’ Riches”…WORD!!!
